You can correct this by dragging that folder ( in the Lightroom folder panel!) from its current location onto the 'Photo Library' folder on the My Book disk. If the (not missing) images shot on Sept 17 should not be on the internal disk, then you selected the wrong destination folder when you imported them. I can't tell you where that folder is, however. You will get a standard 'Open' dialog and with that dialog you have to locate and select that folder.

What you have to do is right-click on that folder in Lightroom, and choose 'Find Missing Folder'.

Maybe the folder was moved, maybe it's still there but was renamed. That is why this folder is shown as missing. I say ' should be', because apparently there isn't. Your first screenshot shows that Lightroom says there is a folder called 'Photo Library' on your 'My Book' disk, and inside that folder there should be a subfolder called '01 January 2004'.

If you could continue with your help it would be greatly appreciated. When you say in your first letter " You must use this dialog to navigate to the current location of the folder and select it.", do you mean that I should go to "My book for Mac", open (click on)"Catalog Lightroom" which is empty or "Photo Library" which appears to have my images in it.Īt present I am afraid to move anything as the whole set up seems mess. Clearly they shouldn't be there, but should be in "My Book for Mac" or at worst "Disc A", though that would be difficult as that disc is not connected. "My book for mac" is just below the Disc A list of folders and only has one item - the 10 images I "moved" from disc A.Īttached is another screen shot which shows those same 10 photographs (with a question mark) and another 12 (with no question mark) which I took on Sept 17 but they went into the SSD shown at the top of the screen shot. Just returned from a few days away, and back to the Lightroom problem. Surely the “Backup’s folder should not be there? Shouldn’t it be on the backup drives?Īttached are screen shots showing relevant data On the “My Book for Mac” screen, “Catalog Lightroom” is empty and “Photo Library”, when opened shows “Brian’s Catalog, which when opened is as shown on an attachment. When I right click on one of the folders and then on “Find missing folder” I am shown “Brian’s catalog, but it is greyed out. However all my Lightroom folders have question marks against them and Disc A is showing though it is not connected.

I now have a new WD “My Passport for Mac” 4TB as backup and the old Seagate Backup Plus 4TB will be used as the second backup, both with Time Machine. I transferred the contents of the SSD to a WD “My Book for Mac” 3 TB using Carbon Copy Cloner. In this case being the 2TB SSD, (with my 22,000 photographs on it). Transfer of data was effected with some difficulties and apparently inadequately.Ībout five weeks ago, by chance, I found that Time Machine had made no backups during these 18 months because it does not backup from “case sensitive” discs. Backup 1 X Seagate Backup plus 2 TB and 1 x Seagate Backup Plus 4TBġ8 months ago I changed to the Present Computer. Laura Shoe, who I contacted first, but is away on holiday, suggested that I contact the Lightroom Queen Gurus with my problems, so here it goes.
